Glebelands Road, PA20 9HN Isle of Bute
Rothesay Golf Club is a characterful island course around Canada Hill at 400m altitude. It offers wide views over the Firth of Clyde and sights like Kyles of Bute, Cowal Hills, Lochs Ridden and Striven, Mull of Kintyre, Arran, and Ayrshire Hills. With 18 holes and 5419 yards, it demands precision. Rolling par 4s and testing par 3s challenge scratch golfers and beginners alike. Designed by James Braid and Ben Sayers, it holds a place in golf history. Walter Hagen played here; Eric Brown called the 4th hole one of Europe's toughest par 3s. The clubhouse offers food and refreshments. Since 1892, it hosts tournaments like the Action on Asbestos Trophy and WBA Memorial Trophy.
