Mill River Country Club is a private golf club in Stratford, Connecticut, on the Housatonic River with views of Long Island Sound. The course began as nine holes and expanded to 18 in 1925. The mix of water, history, and classic country club style gives the round character and challenge for diverse golfers. Mill River also has a rich tournament history, hosting the Shoreline Open Championship on the PGA Tour from 1937 to 1953 with players like Gene Sarazen and Julius Boros. It also hosted two Connecticut State Opens and the U.S. Ladies Amateur Championship. The club features a pro shop and golf lessons for members.
