Lac Vieux Desert Golf Course is an 18-hole, 6,488-yard course in Ottawa National Forest, behind Northern Waters Casino Resort. It features wide fairways with blue grasses and broad landing zones, inviting play with short-cut lines aiding aiming. The rough demands precision, with five ponds, a seasonal creek, and wooded edges adding variety and a lively round in the northwoods. The course was built in two phases: first 9 holes by Mattingly Kuehn Golf Design in 1998, second 9 by Bob Lohmann & Todd Quitno in 2008. With USGA greens, four tees per hole, and well-maintained parkland, it offers appealing play for all levels. The clubhouse completes the experience with a warm 19th hole, dining, and a pro shop.
