Dooaghs, Glenbeigh, Co. Kerry, Ierland
Dooks Golf Club is one of Ireland’s oldest links courses, with golf played here since 1889. Set on the edge of Dingle Bay along the Wild Atlantic Way, this 18-hole layout offers traditional links golf with narrow sandy fairways, well-contoured greens, and a landscape of gorse, heather, and wild flowers. The course was extended to 18 holes in the 1970s under Eddie Hackett, with further enhancements by Martin Hawtree in 2002. With par 71 for men and par 72 for ladies, Dooks provides a testing but rewarding challenge in the ever-present coastal wind, backed by views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Reeks mountain range. Practice facilities include a 9-hole putting green, a short game area with a pot sand bunker, and a driving net warm-up.
