Cloonacastle, Cloonnagashel, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ierland
Ballinrobe Golf Club is a historic parkland course founded in 1895 on the 300-acre Cloonacastle Estate. Designed by the late Eddie Hackett, this 18-hole, par-73 championship layout measures over 6,300 yards for men and offers a rewarding test built around mature woodland, natural water features and strategic hazards. The River Robe comes into play beside several greens, including an inset green at the fifth, while the tenth features a striking island green that calls for precision. A strong stretch of par 3s, tight fairway angles, bunkers and undulating greens create a round that rewards thoughtful shot-making. Practice facilities include a 12-bay floodlit driving range with private lesson bays, chipping and pitching areas, and a large practice green, while the clubhouse sits in the estate’s restored historic buildings.
