Coal Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole par 72 course at the Rocky Mountains' base in Louisville. Designed by Colorado golf architect Richard M. Phelps, it opened in 1990. The front nine has a distinct links feel, with water hazards on nearly every hole. The back nine features elevation changes and wide views of the Front Range, offering a different character. Meandering fairways, well-placed bunkers, and beautiful water features demand smart play and precise shots. As a walkable public course, Coal Creek is challenging yet accessible for all skill levels. After major rebuilds, including post-2013 floods and refinements from 2015, it offers extensive practice facilities and a strong junior golf program. In 2025, it was certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
